Actually the day you asked was the last possible day an August Event could have been submitted. All events must be submitted 2 weeks before the actual event for approval by Groundspeak. Maybe something can be done in September.

ANY member of the CVC can plan an Event. If someone wants to do so, just book the place and email the details to Gridlox, SoundmanRB or sledgehampster and they can submit the cache page using the CVC's account.
