DeLorme handheld GPS

Postby sledgehampster on Fri Nov 02, 2007 9:14 am

Delorme has a handheld mapping GPS now called the PN-20. It comes with TOPO 6.0 software. There are several data types compatible with the Earthmate GPS PN-20:
» Aerial Data Packet (ADP) data
» DOQQ (Aerial Imagery)
» 3DTQ (USGS Quads)
» Sat 10 data (Satellite Imagery)
» Topo USA data (Detailed street and topographic maps)

Street Atlas is supposed to work on it also at a future date.

I've got a PN20 and it is not a GPSr for a newbie. There is a large learning curve in it's use but once one catches on, it is an awesome device.

The new Topo 7 has been released and it does include the SA information. That information is available on the PN20. That part of it I'm still getting used to.

The ability to have DeLorme maps, scanned images, aerial photos, satellite photos, and USGS maps all on the device is outstanding.
