GeoWoodstock is Over

Postby The Waysiders on Sun May 24, 2009 11:57 pm

It was fantastic seeing so many Coosa Valley Cachers at GeoWoodstock. CVC was well represented. Those that couldn't make it were sincerely missed and you missed a fun one. We can hardly wait for the next CVC event and swap GW7 stories. :D

WOW! That's what I have to say about GW7. I just got back last night after a week of caching and sight-seeing in the Bell Buckle area. I stayed in Manchester and hit all the small towns around that area. A fellow cacher at GW7 told me about Estill Springs (yes, it's on the map but it's a small place) - lots of neat caches!

I covered Shelbyville, Tullahoma, Wartrace, Manchester, Beech Grove, Estill Springs, and of course, back to Bell Buckle. I passed my goal for the week - I now have 65 found caches. and 43 TBs. I picked up three TBs to relocate to Alabama and have five new geocoins of my very own. I met some nice folks from Virginia (at the last supper in Shelbville on Sunday night) who gave me three of their personally designed TBs. So I guess I can officially call it a collection!

I met JoeFrog from Dixie Cachers and found out he is originally from my town - it's a small world. I enjoyed meeting lots of the folks (the legends) that you see often in the forurms and on geocaching.com.

I did have some adventures - locked my keys in my car on Monday and on Wednesday busted my right front tire and had to buy a new one. This could have sent me home bummed out but I still had caching fever and continued on until yesterday.

I was glad to see The Waysiders just sitting there on the bales of hay - nice to see you guys. Hope to see you at the next local event.

What a great weekend!!

Finally met some online friends face to face, did some caching, drove in a lot of circles, went to the Midnight Coin Madness event and watched all the cars get booted and a couple towed from the KFC next door to the hotel  , grabbed a cool puzzle cache for my 200th find (unintentionally), got several new ideas for future hides, ...

Came home tired & exhausted!! It was AWESOME!! :D

It was awesome running into a bunch of you guys up there. :D
Wished we had thought to plan ahead and set up a time & place to meet each other all at one time. :(
I know a few more that were there but I never run into.
I could have made us a CVC-GeoWoodstock VII banner and we could have took a picture together!! That'd been cool!!

Running through my pictures after getting home I think I spotted Johnnie sitting in front of the coffee shop at the park entrance. If not you Johnnie, then it was some one that favored you a lot. If it was you, sorry for not recognizing you and say Hi.

Anyone palnning to go to Seattle next year?

The Big Picture has been posted on the Geowoodstock site!!

I know we cut out early to grab some caches. So, we weren't around to take part.

I scanned over the pic but wasn't able to make out any of our gang. (Of course, I could have just possibly overlooked you  if so, Sorry! )

Was anyone here for the shoot?

edit: I just spotted the "Smiling in Acworth" team. :D
