My son-in-law is now the President of the Chamber of Commerce for Polk County. After being introduced to Geocaching by his crazy mother-in-law he likes it as a family activity. He thinks that there can be a fun way to encourage caching in Polk County and is willing to help with liaison to business owners, and property owners in the area. If you have some experience talking with folks to get permission for caching, and think this could be a worthwhile effort, please contact me at brownthrasher at bellsouth dot net

He's willing to make it a tab off the Polk County Development Authority web page, and to perhaps even do a multi/puzzle cache taht would end at the Chamber of Commerce where a cache could get the cacher a special prize. I don't know of a lot of places that are so open to caching so I'd like to facilitate this if at all possible.

If you can meet with him, or at least phone him and discuss the potential here. He's probably delegate this to someone else for coordination but I think this is a positive thing that can lead to lots more caches and some positive relationships with local businesses.
