Needing suggestions for CVC website

Postby gridlox on Mon Nov 26, 2007 2:16 pm

BIG Thanks to Sledgehampster for getting the forums back up and running!! :D :D

Now we (or "I") need to get something up on our www.coosavalleycachers.com website. :(

I'm going to place a link to the forums here, on the main page tonight to at least get people pointed to us rather than the "dead end" that they are getting now.

But, here's where I need you guys input...
I can handle all the graphics and layout stuff, no problems, but I need some help & direction for the meat & potatoes of the site.

I think we need:

*Some sort of introduction of the group. (Anyone volunteer to write it up?)

*A welcome to the area message. (Again, anyone volunteer?)

*A "local attractions" links section (I've already got a few but need more suggestions)

*Area Map (Since Rome is basically our center I thought I'd just link in a Google Maps map with Rome as the center. Any objections?)

*A "What is Geocaching" FAQ page. (I'm going to use the explanation from Geocaching.com as the basis and just rewrite it a bit to make it our "own")

*Meetings page - I'll edit it monthly after we get the next meeting set up with the info and a link to the geocaching.com event page

I'm open for "any and all" suggestion that anyone has for anything else for the site.

Thanks,
D-man 8)

Sounds good. Build it and let's see what we get. Might get more input if we have a product to look at.

Finally got around to posting link on the front page of CoosaValleyCachers.com to here.

It's probably going to be after the first of the year before I'll have the time to get the site designed enough to be able to upload something decent.
With the holiday season upon us and the tons of extra coin design work I have on my table right now, I just don't have the spare time to work on it right now. :( :( :( Sorry.

How about a "going on a geocache hunt who wants to hook up", page? Sort of a impromptu team page to meet each other?

Would certainly help me as a newbie.

Just an idea...
