Magellan is coming out with a new unit called Triton. Looks good so far, especially the 400. Release was originally scheduled for Oct and now has been pushed back to Nov(?).
Will wait to see how they work for other folks before I get too excited.

Last I heard the Triton series may not be out until January but possibly in time for Yule. The problem, apparently, is not on Magellan's end but with the National Geographic maps. Reports are that NG is working hard to make the conversions work smoothly.
This is a new system with lots of new stuff it is bound to have growing pains while in Beta.

I bought a Triton 400 this summer as my first gps device. I did LOTS of shopping and in spite of reviews that stated that the Magellan customer support was not that good, I took a chance and made the purchase. So far, so good, knock on wood - it has been fine.
Had a couple of problems with turning off the unit but I think it was like my computer - busy so it was slow to respond.
I like the Vantage Point software pretty well. But I really don't have anything to compare to since this is my first experience with gps.
